Role

An exciting and challenging position for a Security Manager on a large IT project providing application operations and maintenance, COTS integration and software development services and business solutions for more than 50 mission systems in the Federal Government. The candidate will be responsible for the overall security efforts and guidance for the Agency’s Operation and Maintenance Systems working with application support staff to ensure successful implementation. This will include defining technical security initiatives, preparing for and supporting Assessments and Audits as well as continuous monitoring. Individual must be well versed in collaborating with key government stakeholders. The work location is in Arlington, Virginia.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and lead technical security initiatives by defining and working with Managers to plan and implement (e.g. SIEM, Nessus, etc).
  • Work closely with government Stakeholders to effectively manage customer expectations on security efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA and Agency security policies.
  • Lead/Support multi-disciplined project teams in preparing for security assessments and working through issues that arise during assessments or audits.
  • Track action items and actively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Motivate staff and provide leadership and guidance to improve security posture.
  • Identify, communicate, and lead ongoing security process improvements initiatives.
  • Manage security activities for the operations and maintenance program.
  • Work with other release managers to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Ensure release managers are complying with and tracking their security continuous monitoring efforts.
  • Track and report key milestones for the applications to client stakeholders.

Key Qualifications
